The Children’s Museum welcomes visitors of all abilities. Our three public floors can be accessed by elevator. All restrooms and most exhibits are wheelchair accessible. We also have a small wheelchair in our coat room available for use during a Museum visit.
We are proud to partner with the La Crosse Autism Foundation and the Chileda Institute to provide our visitors with Adventure Backpacks. These packs were originally designed with autistic children in mind, but may be used by anyone looking for a little extra structure while they play here at the museum. Packs include supplies such as schedules, timers, ear mufflers, and fidgets to be checked out and used during your visit. Ask our front desk staff when you come play, or contact Hannah@funmueum.org or 608-784-2652 x225 for more information before your visit.
Some years, the Children’s Museum secures grant funding to support discounted field trips for groups with special needs students. Check the Field Trip page or contact Christina@funmuseum.org or 608-784-2652 x226 for more information. Another option, if you plan repeat visits, may be our prepaid admission program for non-profit organizations and child care providers. Details here.
