Donate to the Children's Museum of La Crosse

When you make a tax-deductible donation to the Children's Museum of La Crosse, you:
Give a Giggle...
Make a Memory...
Ignite Imagination...
Launch Laughter and Learning...
and Preserve the Power of Play!

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with no Government or United Way funding, the Children's Museum of La Crosse relies on the generous support of the community to continue providing affordable opportunities for hands-on learning and fun. Income from admissions, membership and other fees covers approximately 75% of our annual operating budget. The rest must be raised through donations, grants and special events.

GIFTS OF APPRECIATED STOCK: While cash donations to the Children’s Museum are always appreciated, you may not know that you can also donate by gifting appreciated stock. Gifting appreciated stock effectively generates a double tax benefit. You receive a charitable deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid the taxable event of selling. For example, if you own 100 shares of a stock that has a $2,000 gain, donating those shares to the Children’s Museum would give you a charitable deduction equal to the fair market value plus you avoid paying the capital gains tax on the $2,000 gain. The Children’s Museum still receives the benefit of your generous donation! Talk to your financial advisor or ask us for a recommendation of a local professional to help you.
