SUMMER HOURS: From June 1 through August 31, the Museum will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesdays through Sundays (+ open until 7:30 pm on the first Friday of each month)!

weekly/monthly programs:

 FREE with paid admission or membership.
Registration is not required for these programs but classes may fill due to room capacity and limited supplies. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early. Parental involvement is expected.

TUESDAYS: Tinker Tuesdays, 10:30 am Try, build, make and create and join us for some free thinking fun! Sponsored by Trane - Ingersoll Rand Graduate Training Program. No class on May 14.

THURSDAYS: Little Learners, 10:30 am. Make and take, learn and play...we have fun the toddler way! Join us for stories, crafts, games, and snack! Ages 1-5 with adult.

SUMMER FRIDAYS (June-August): Wee Move, 10:30 am. Join instructors from Amanda's Academy of Dance to sing, dance, giggle, and move! Ages 1-7 with adult. No Wee Move in May.

First Fridays Open Late until 7:30 pm. Come to downtown La Crosse on the first Friday of each month (through November) for extended hours and special activities at many businesses. Get $5 admission after 5:00 on each First Friday at the Museum!

Cancellations 14 or more days before the event will be refunded via Children's Museum gift card. Cancellations within 13
of event will not be refunded. We may be able to transfer your payment to a similar event if other dates are available.days


Saturday, May 18: Meet Pet Therapy Dog, Mishka, 10 to 11am.

Saturday, May 18: Armed Forces Day, Noon to 4 pm. Join La Crosse's very own Eagle Battalion Army ROTC Cadets and Cadre as we honor our Armed Forces. Try on an army uniform, go on mission and enjoy more fun games and activities around the museum.

Friday, May 24: National Scavenger Hunt Day, 10 am to 5 pm. Follow our festive scavenger hunt around the museum and win a prize!

Saturday, May 25: Animals in Your Area with Coulee Region Humane Society, 10 am to Noon Meet some cute and cuddly therapy dogs, learn about the animals in your area, and learn how to make fun and exciting toys for our animal friends at the Humane Society.

Saturday, May 25: WisCorps presents - Precious Prairies, 1 to 2 pm. The world is full of unique and special places for animals to live and one important place locally is prairies! In Precious Prairies we talk about the importance of conserving special natural areas and why it is important for Endangered Species like a special friend we will see during the program. Learn about WisCorps, animal habitats, conservation, and meet some unique critters too! Made possible by Dave Utterback and LPL Financial.

Saturday, May 25: Wiscorps presents - Major Movements, 3 to 4 pm. Have you ever wondered why birds fly, snakes slither, and humans walk? In Major Movements, we learn what it takes for animals to survive and how they have changed, or adapted over the years. Learn about special things our own animals have to help them survive, and meet some WisCorps animals who have their own unique things about them! Made possible by Dave Utterback and LPL Financial.

TUESDAY, MAY 28 - FRIDAY, MAY 31: XOXO EXHIBIT TEARDOWN Some areas of the museum may be closed this week

Wednesdays, June 5 and July 3: Stretch & Shine with The Healthy Hut, 10:30 am. Get a healthy start to your Wednesday with introductory yoga and other simple and fun exercises for young children and their caring adults. Free with Museum admission. No registration required. Optional: Bring a towel or mat.

Sunday, June 16: Happy Father’s Day, Noon to 5 pm. All fathers enjoy FREE admission today + we'll have some special activities and crafts!

Sunday, June 2: Best Baby Shower in Town sponsored by Mayo from Noon-3:00 pm. FREE admission from noon to 3 pm and helpful resources for expectant parents and those with young children. No registration required. Regular Save-on-Sunday admission of $6 per person resumes 3 to 5 pm.

Saturday, June 15: A Day of Play at the La Crosse Aquatics Center, 12:30 - 2:30 pm at Erickson Pool and 3:30 - 5:30 pm at North Side Community Pool. Make new friends, try new things, and beat the heat! Free with admittance to the pool.

June 17-21: Busy Builders Camp, 8:30 to 11:30 am for ages 4-6. Simple tools +inventive minds + collaboration = endless possibilities for S.T.E.M. focused fun. Pre-registration & pre-payment required.

June 24-28: Artsy Smartsy Camp, 8:30 to 11:30 am for ages 4-6. A variety of age-appropriate projects will be offered with plenty of opportunities to be creative and expressive, while developing fine motor skills. Pre-registration & pre-payment required.

June 24-28: Artsy Smartsy Camp, 1:30-4:30 pm for ages 6-8. Campers will learn about and try different types of art including crafts, painting, music, and theater. Pre-registration & pre-payment required.

Single day program cancellation policy: If you/your child cannot attend a single day program for which you are registered, please notify us as early as possible so we can make your space/s available to others.  Full refunds will be given for cancellations received 8 days or more in advance of the program date. Within 7 days of the program date: refunds of $10 or higher will be given via Children’s Museum gift card (redeemable for anything at the Museum with no expiration date); and one or more single admission passes will be given in lieu of refunds totaling less than $10.  No refunds will be given if you do not attend the program and fail to notify us in advance. Cancellation policies differ for birthday parties, facility rentals and multi-day programs/summer camps.
