$130 Museum Members / $150 Non-Members

Each Birthday Bash includes:

  • Admission, refreshments and silly smart fun for the birthday child and up to 12 child guests.
  • Up to 8 adult chaperones. Party adults are expected to supervise children at all times. At least 1 adult per 5 children required.
  • 1 hour scheduled in our private party room plus unlimited play time during open hours (we will store your gifts during your play time)
  • Museum "Birthday Buddy" to help lead festivities during party room time.
  • Solid color tableware with lemonade, water and a 14-serving Dairy Queen ice cream cake with candles along with all necessary tableware. 
    If you have extra guests or want your adults to have cake, you may need to order an extra (see extras menu below). No outside food or drink allowed. Speak with a manager if you have any allergy concerns.
  • Photo backdrop with props and birthday "throne" in party room (bring your camera!)
  • $5.00 gift shop certificate for the birthday child

Ask us about guest adjustments if you have more adults and few children.
Additional children/adults may be added for an additional cost (see extras menu below). Bashes are limited to a maximum of 30 people (included and extra) due to room capacity - book an Hullabaloo party if you are planning to invite more than 30.

Choose one of these themes (ages most suitable are listed after each theme):

  • Princess (ages 3-7)
  • Mermaid (ages 5-7)
  • Pirate (ages 3-7)
  • Super Hero (ages 3-7)
  • Safari (ages 2-9)

Themes can be tailored to fit groups of mixed ages and genders as needed.
Contact us if you are looking for a theme not listed to discuss options - one of our themes may be able to tie in or we can help match colors for a non-themed birthday bash.

Each Themed Birthday Bash includes everything in the Birthday Bash package PLUS:
 
  • Themed activities led by Museum staff with take-home item for each child
  • Extra half hour in party room for activities, if needed
  • Dress-up items for children to wear during private room time
  • Decorations, photo backdrop & props coordinated with chosen theme
  • Themed gift from the Museum for the birthday child

Extras for Birthday Bashes (please order at least a week in advance):

  • Extra children beyond 13 included: $8 members, $10 non-members
  • Extra adults beyond 8 included in bash: $5 each
  • Large 2-topping Toppers pizza (~6 servings each - 2 pizza minimum): $10 each
  • 15-piece Jimmy John's Party Platter (ham, turkey, & veggie available): $30 each
  • Additional Dairy Queen ice cream cake (~14 servings): $20 each
  • Stuff-your-own mini-plush (already included in Safari bashes) $5.50 each

Birthday Bash Times:

Choose the day and time for your party room time from the options below (pending availability) and plan to explore the Museum before and/or after, with your adult chaperones providing supervision, during regular hours.

Tuesdays through Saturdays 11:00 am, 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm

Sundays 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm

Please ask your guests arrive at the Museum at least 30 minutes before your scheduled party room start time. Birthday Bashes include 1 hour in the party room and Themed Birthday Bashes included up to an hour and a half.

Important Notes:

  • Payment of the base party fee is due in full at registration. Any necessary adjustments and payment for extras will be made on date of party. We accept cash, check, VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
  • Extras must be ordered at least one week prior to event.
  • Cancellations made more than 10 days before party will be fully refunded. The Museum will retain $25.00 for cancellations made within 10 days before party date, unless party is rescheduled.
  • Please make sure guests are told to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to room start time for prompt start and full hour.
  • Due to party room capacity, total party attendance cannot exceed 30 people. Consider an after-hours Hullabaloo if you are inviting a larger group.
  • At least one adult (age 16+) is required per every 5 children and must supervise children at all times in all areas of the museum.
  • No outside food or beverages are allowed for bash parties. Let us know if there is an allergy issue.
  • All food/beverages must be consumed in lower level party room.
  • You may bring your own tabletop decorations/balloons, but we do not allow confetti, piñatas, or taping/fastening anything to the walls, windows, doors, or ceilings

after-hours hullabaloo

$275.00 Museum Members / $325.00 Non-Members

Get the Children’s Museum to yourselves for a birthday, family reunion, company party, school event or any celebration!

The Hullabaloo Package Includes:

  • The entire 3 floors of Museum exhibits to yourselves for 2 hours!
  • Fun for up to 150 people (please include hosts or any staff of your event in count).
  • $5.00 gift shop certificate for the birthday child
  • Lower level party room with seating for 30
  • Option to bring in your own food, refreshments, and tableware or order from our Extras Menu.
    Some limitations apply. All food and drink must stay in the lower level party room.

    This package does not include organized activities, decorations, birthday buddy, food, refreshments, or tableware. See our Extras Menu for add-on options.

Extras for Hullabaloo (order at least one week before event):

  • Large 2-topping Toppers pizza (6 servings each - 2 pizza minimum): $10 each
  • 15-piece Jimmy John's Party Platter (ham, turkey, & veggie available): $30 each
  • Dairy Queen Ice cream cake (~14 servings): $20 each
  • Stuff-your-own mini-plush: $5.50 each

  • All food/beverages must be consumed in lower level party room.
  • To minimize food waste, please plan to bring unconsumed food home with you.
  • You may bring your own tabletop decorations/balloons, but we do not allow confetti, piñatas, or taping/fastening anything to the walls, windows, doors, or ceilings

When can we have a party?
Your time in the private party room for a birthday/themed bash can be scheduled, pending availability, for the following days and times: Tuesdays through Saturdays: 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm or Sundays 1:00 pm or 3:00 pm
Birthday bashes include 1 hour in party room. Themed bashes include an additional half hour for activities, if needed.
Playtime can be scheduled before and/or after your party room time during regular museum hours. Please make sure you ask guests to arrive at least 30 minutes before your party room start time.
 
Hullabaloo parties can be held, pending availability, Tuesdays through Sundays from 5:30-7:30 or Sundays from 10 am to Noon.
Hullabaloo times may be extended for an extra fee
 
How do I schedule a party?
You may schedule any type of party by calling 608-784-2652. Birthday and themed bashes can also be scheduled online.

Can we bring in our own food?
We do not allow outside food or beverage in the Museum during regular hours.

If you want more than ice cream cake and pizza/subs (extra fee), consider an after-hours Hullabaloo party where you can arrange your own food and refreshments (limitations apply).
 

What decorations do you provide? Can we bring our own?

Our private room for birthday/themed bashes offers a festive setting with a birthday throne and a backdrop for fun photos!
You may bring your own tabletop decorations, but we do not allow taping or fastening anything to the walls, windows, doors or ceilings.
No piñatas or confetti. Our birthday/themed bashes often run back-to-back so time will be limited for any extra decorating. 

The whole museum is full of fun and bright colors for your event!

Will Museum staff play with/supervise our children throughout the entire party?
A “Birthday Buddy” will serve refreshments and lead activities during your time in the party room for birthday/themed bashes.
Your adults are responsible for supervising children at all times while in the museum.
 

If some of our guests are Museum members, can they attend our party at no charge?

No. Parties are special events that include more than Museum admission. All children (over 12 months) and adults attending your party will count towards the guest total. If a child guest’s parent and sibling/s are not attending your birthday/themed bash and want to play in the Museum while their child attends your party, they may check in under their membership or pay regular admission.

 

Do you provide goodie bags? Can we bring our own?

We do not provide goodie bags. Our themed bashes do include a take-home item for each child guest (something fun they created at the party!). You are more than welcome to bring in your own, but we do ask that they are not handed out until guests are leaving the museum after play to avoid any pieces getting lost in the museum.

Do you provide party invitations?

Yes. After your party is confirmed, you are welcome to print this invitation, just fold and add your party details (remember to ask guests to arrive at least 30 minutes before your party room time for birthday/themed bashes), then send them to your guests. You can also use our fill-in-the-blank thank you notes.
